About Local File Converter

Simple file conversion tools that run directly in your browser.

File conversion without the upload

Most online converters upload a file to a server before returning a result. Local File Converter takes a different approach: supported files are processed on your device with browser technologies, without uploading them to a conversion server.

Choose a converter, select one or more supported files, and save the results from your browser. No account, desktop application, or browser extension is required.

Why local conversion?

Modern browsers can handle many common image and PDF conversion tasks themselves. Processing those tasks locally helps keep selected file contents on your device while keeping the workflow focused and quick.

The service is designed for everyday jobs such as preparing photos for the web, converting documents, creating a PDF from images, or extracting pages from a PDF as images.

Privacy as a technical choice

Privacy is part of the service design, not just a policy statement. Supported conversions happen locally whenever the browser can perform them, so selected files do not need to leave your device to change format.

Some files and browsers cannot be supported locally. When that happens, the service reports an error rather than sending a file to a remote conversion fallback.
